Richard (or Dickie as he was known to some)
was born on 27th of June 1980 at Pinjarra
hospital WA. Richard grew up in Mandurah. He started school in 1986 at Dudley
park primary. After Richard completed primary school he
then went to Fredeick irwin Anglican
community school. He completed year 12
in 1997 and went on with tertiary studies at Murdoch University of engineering.
He
achieved a bachelor of engineering-Instrumentation and control engineering in
July 2002 and graduated with merit
honours. Richard also spent 6 months with
argyle diamond mine as a part of a
component of his degree. After Richard
finished his tertiary studies, Richard moved
down to Bunbury where he got a position at swispec. Richard's job took him all
over
Australia.
When Richard wasn't working or travelling for
work he would spend time with the family
either helping out in his parents shop or
visiting his sister Tammie in Broomhill or
going to his brother Graham's house to go
fishing or diving.
Richard was always a happy person cracking
jokes or playing pranks on people. He
enjoyed the occassional drink just like most people. He was the life of the party.
If anyone
was feeling down he would be the person to
get them smiling. Everyone loved Richard. He formed an immediate bond with whomever
he met. He was generous always willing to give anyone a hand no matter what it was.
Richard took a lot of pride in his pocessions.
He was very proud of his house which he purchased in Bunbury in 2005. At the age
of
16 Richard bought a 1965 HD Holden which
he rebuilt with the help of his parents. In 2003
on valentine's day he bought the love of his life
his Nissan Navara.
Tragically Richard's life was cut short on the 1st of September 2006 due to a tragic light
plane crash at Mount Vernon station Meekathara. His life was cut short along with Tegan Rieck who was only 20 months
old. Tegan Rieck was the beautiful daughter of Shane and Kristy Rieck who are family friends.
These two wonderful people will never be forgotten by the people who's lives they
touched and will be missed dearly by family and friends.
